Emme just love to go swimming. So today her and I walked to a little place I like to call Sand Island(shown below). She ran, jumped, rolled, and dived. She is full of energy and excitement.

Nothing makes me more happy than to see her this happy!

Looking to the future...but

reminiscing in the past as well. I've collected a series of random polaroids.

I get very overwhelmed with my French studies. It was nice to take a break and get these polaroids together. Oh and I read this quote when I'm feeling hopeless. Enjoy.
I stand and listen to people speaking french in the stores and in the street. It's such a pert, crisp language, elegant as ruffling taffeta. -Belva Plain

Hello Sunshine!

I took this photo the other day at my moms house. I really just love it. Flowers are really something else. And they make me happy.

one night getaway

Do you ever have those days that you didn't realize you needed a getaway until you feel that you have no choice but to? Last Saturday was like that for me. Shannon has a friend named Monica who I haven't seen since I was probably 15; it has been sometime. Her and her fiance came over to Shannon's house for some good cajun style cooking. After learning a new card game called pinnacle with Shannon, her mother, grandmother, and Monica while the T.V. played some sports for easy male entertainment, Monica asks us to both go to her beach house for the night. Her fiance takes to surfing and she wanted girl company. I of course had a million reasons why I probably couldn't come. Monica was so wonderful in the way she shot down each one of my once believed real excuses as not a problem. With a few words of encouragements Monica had Shannon and I packing our bags (and my dog Emme!!). I got my own room to sleep in along with my pooch. The next day was filled with fun but only a little sun. Despite the weather we jumped around water, rode some frenzied waves, and sat on the beach laughing the day away. All in all I am so thankful I went. It was the perfect spur of the moment getaway. I am especially glad to have reconnected with Monica. I will have to make sure to let her know how truly thankful I am for her generosity and hospitality.

saving the best for last... love this one

Last week I decided I needed to upgrade my hardware =). I am now shooting with a Canon 7D. This is a rather large jump to the point where it makes me nervous to even use it. Don't get me wrong it's exciting, but also it seems like taking on a lot more responsibility. Shannon helped me face my fears by doing a little bit of modeling for me. (Not to mention she was excited to see what this model brought to the table. What a photographer!) We had more than a little bit of fun. Shannon's beauty shines through each frame. See for yourself!

This next frame is one of my favorites of the day. Fierce but fragile.

Thanks Shanny for being so lovely and helping me work on my photography!!

I made my first video of, of course, my little girl. Emme has been in my life for 17 wonderful months. She is a blessing in every possible way. Enjoy. p.s it works better if you watch it in photobucket due to dimensions.
